The Kentucky Department for Local Government (DLG) will make available $123 million in federal funding to assist with the ongoing response to FEMA disasters 4595 and 4630 for the Severe Storms, Flooding, Landslide/Mudslides, Straight-line Winds, and Tornadoes that hit the state in 2021. The funds are provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program. The CDBG-DR Program works to rebuild areas affected by disasters like Hurricane Ida, Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Harvey to name a few.

What are CDBG-DR Funds?
CDBG-DR funding can be used for long-term recovery projects such as housing, rebuilding the local economy, and restoring infrastructure. The funds are flexible but must meet specific requirements. To learn more please see the slide deck presented here.
