The Department for Local Government, or DLG, under the Office of the Governor, provides financial help in the way of grant and loan assistance, as well as advising local governments in matters of budget, personnel and other issues relevant to those entities.

DLG Will Accept Public Comments on the Kentucky Action Plan |

The draft revised Kentucky Action Plan is available for public review and comment. To view click CDBG Amended Action Plan. See page 5 for proposed revision in red. Kentucky's revised Action Plan will be available for public review and comment January 8 – February 8, 2010. Written comments will be accepted, addressed and, where applicable, incorporated into the document. A summary of comments will be submitted to HUD. - Webster County receives grant for storm clean up, repairs
Wednesday, September 30, 2009 FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 30, 2009) – Gov. Steve Beshear and the Department for Local Government (DLG) today announced a Flood Control Matching Grant to assist Webster County with cleanup and repair costs resulting from the severe storms and flooding that struck the county on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009 and the ice storm that occurred in January 2009.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009 BENTON, Ky. (Sept. 15, 2009) – Gov. Steve Beshear today announced a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to Marshall County for the construction of a new health department.

Wednesday, September 09, 2009 VERSAILLES, Ky. (Sept. 8, 2009) – Gov. Steve Beshear today presented two ceremonial checks in Versailles for grants awarded for wastewater system improvements and the purchase of new radios for emergency response units throughout Woodford County.
